Brasil: Rechazan transgénicos
BRASIL- Los puntos centrales de la argumentación de las organizaciones eran que los estudios comprobaron que "ratas alimentadas con una dieta rica en maíz genéticamente modificado desarrollaron anormalidades en sus órganos internos y alteraciones en su sangre" , lo que debería ser motivo de una nueva evaluación por parte de la Comisión; no hay en Brasil, falta de stock de maíz convencional, siendo totalmente innecesaria la importación de maíz transgénico desde Argentina y, además, a la CTNbio no le compete decidir sobre asuntos comerciales.
En respuesta a las organizaciones, la Comisión Técnica Nacional de Bioseguridad elaboró una "Nota Técnica" con una serie de "impropiedades y demostrando una postura profundamente antidemocrática en lo que se refiere a las decisiones sobre Bioseguridad".
